Most small businesses don't have servers and very often backing up data is on the "to do" list. Email is one area that is often over looked when it comes to backups, documents and pictures get backed up but email folders can be more difficult to find or they may be completely forgotten. I've put together a pdf with step by step instructions on how to backup Microsoft Outlook. It is a very simple but very important process. Outlook Backup pdf

To coincide with a new bunch of students finishing college, a spam campaign with CVs attached was launched recently. The emails have attachments which, if opened, could infect your computer. You should NEVER open an email that you are not expecting, ESPECIALLY if it has an attachment. I wouldn't open any of the CV emails, I'm not expecting any, I can hardly keep myself in a job!
I know I've said it before but it doesn't hurt to remind people. There are a raft of emails going around at the moment, I've received some from AIB, Ulster Bank, UPS, Amazon, Revenue and some of those dodgy CVs just to name a few. It's better to be safe than sorry, so instead of opening the emails, ring the company to see if they really did send you something. It's better to have a few irritated customer service people than an infected computer and a bill for repairs!

I know that you've probably been dying to read the second installment of My 2 Favourite Topics ;-) Website Backup. Yep that's it, website backup. Do you have a backup of your website? Did you know your website could be backed up? What would happen if your website got hacked or if files and links got deleted by mistake? I bet you're thinking "My webdesigner would sort it out". How sure are you that they would? Some people don't have regular contact with their webdesigners so you should check that out! If you are adding content to your website yourself then there is more of a chance that there isn't a backup. Do yourself a favour and check if there is a backup. Check it today!
